CAP International: "The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe does not understand the realities of the prostitution system"
Open letter from fourteen organisations –CAP International, European Women’s Lobby, European Network of Migrant Women, Osez le Féminisme !, Rights4Girls, Coalition against Trafficking in Women, Swedish Women’s Lobby, SPACE International, French Coordination for the European Women’s Lobby, Bündnis Nordisches Modell, Brussels’ Call, EuroMed Feminist Initiative, the Spanish State Federation of Abolitionist Women and Intedinhora– in response to the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights comment on prostitution:
“We, survivors-led, feminist and grassroot’ organisations, are appalled by the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights’ comment on “protecting the human rights of sex workers”, both in terms of the methodology used and of the content developed. Women and girls in prostitution deserve better that what can only be considered a disconnected piece of propaganda“.
